A Classic tours collection. What a company. If you're looking to go on a wild adventure with tours, great food, dining in cenote caves and/or high end stays, Debika's you're gal. She treated us so well at every turn during our honeymoon with my amazing new wife. Leaving the country on our own for the first time never felt so easy having our guardian angel Debika wherever we went. Best honeymoon ever. ❤️

If you're thinking of India, think Debika Sen and A Classic Tours Collection. A native of the country who now lives in/and operates her company from Los Angeles, she offers experience delved from both of these worlds. I would never consider trying to negotiate this sub-continent on my own and having traveled with Debika, I would never consider using any tour operator other than A Classic Tours Collection. This pandemic has presented extreme challenges for travel. We had booked an eclipse tour for November and December of 2020 to Argentina and Chile with this company. We were able to defer travel to this past November and December and were able to enjoy the wonders of Argentina and Chile, especially the Patagonian regions of both countries.

My hat is off to Mark Sood, who managed to locate excellent guides and local experts in history,paleontology and wildlife biology.

While I would've preferred to have experienced the total solar eclipse from on land, the solar eclipse flight from Punta Arenas out over the southern Atlantic was spectacular and awe inspiring.

I would recommend Classic Tours to anyone interested in nature or astronomy.

I have seen many positive reviews of trips to India with this company, but our experience on the 2019 Chile eclipse trip was not of the same quality. They offered a number of options of tours, from simply going to the eclipse, to adding on segments in Santiago, Atacama Desert and Easter Island. We chose the most extensive, having been assured we would be in “small” groups (20 -25 people) for all but the main eclipse gathering (of over 140 people). We were in fact in somewhat larger groups from the beginning, and for most meals, the groups were all combined, for undistinguished mass-produced food, sometimes at venues that could not accommodate our size – we had one lunch where people at our table sat for an your before being served. The outings were heavy on time in buses and in several cases missed the highlights of the location. Information was scarce and often inconsistent from one guide to another. Based on our experience, I would not recommend travelling with this company for one of their eclipse offerings.

This company decided to cancel an eclipse tour at the last minute and refused to give a full refund, keeping $2,500. Several other companies such as Astro-Trails and Eclipse Travel did successfully run their tours.

As a "courtesy" I'm told that I can take four long trips with "Classic Tours" to slowly get some credit for my unrefunded money. Seriously, they call it a "courtesy" that they require me to pay them over $40,000 to try to get my $2,500 back! This tells you right there what kind of outfit this is.

Also, be careful of the fine print which provides settlement options only if you are a resident of California. I'm not. And currently the company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau.

With tremendous patience and knowledge and the all important sense of humor Mark and his company planned my travel in India.
I have traveled with A Classic Tours before and had a wonderful visit in Rajasthan getting to attend royal weddings and stay in Palaces. This trip will be through Kerala and then the Haveli area outside Jaipur.
Mark Sood can make ones ideas of their adventure come into reality. I Highly recommend A Classic Tours.

This was by far the worst tour I have ever taken in my life. It was chaotic, poorly managed and the communication was non-existent. If I could give this company a negative rating I would. Everything from running out of food and wine, a bus with no toilet, an itinerary that had no relationship to reality, no communication, and way too much placed on us as paying customers for a very costly tour--luggage handling by us, checking in on airlines by us, failure to meet us at the airport. Everyone on the tour had a story and everyone had a complaint. Avoid this company at all costs.
