One of the best hidden gem in Washington in winter season. Winter scenery after the snowfall is incredibly beautiful, scenery-wise like a mini Alaska cruise ride (with no glaciers). We have done it twice in summer and once in winter and prefer winter ride. Will do it again.

I did the day trip up to Stehekien, 3.5 hours each way for 1.5 hours up in Steheiken... crew was great, I struggled to hear the narration on the Upper deck, perhaps because there was a school group up there too, so moved downstairs to the soft seats. One of the bathrooms was out of order, so a line formed for the other. We had calm water, and was a smooth ride. Lots of shade, beautiful views the entire time.

This boat ride was worth every penny and contributed to a great vacation in the Cascades. The dock is easy to find and as soon as you arrive, everything is easy from parking to boarding. Ride itself was smooth and on a clean boat. The folding chairs aren't the most comfortable but this is not a luxury cruise. The pilot was great and his narratives were very educational. We rode to Stehekin and took the Rainbow falls tour which I'd highly recommend. The snack bar on the boat is very small so I'd recommend bringing your own food and drinks. I'd take this tour again if I come back to the area.

We enjoyed the slow boat- visiting with fellow passengers, crew, browsing the gift shop, being on the water at a peaceful pace. Plenty of drinks and snacks for sale. I recommend bringing binoculars, it's fun to spy on the waterfront cottages. Our captain pulled over to get up close to a herd of mountain goats and bighorn sheep! Gorgeous scenery the whole way.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the stunning North Cascades, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our journey included a ride on the Lady Of The Lake express ferry, and I cannot speak highly enough about the entire experience.

The ferry ride itself was absolutely fantastic. The express boat was not only fast but also incredibly smooth, making the journey across the beautiful waters feel like a breeze. The crew on board were exceptionally friendly and engaging, making the trip even more enjoyable. They were always available for a chat and had plenty of interesting stories to share about the area.

The seating on the ferry was another highlight for me. The seats were as comfortable as those you’d find in a movie theater, allowing me to relax and take in the breathtaking scenery without a care in the world. The boat also departed and returned right on time, which made planning the rest of our day easy and stress-free.

The North Cascades themselves were nothing short of spectacular. The majestic mountain peaks, lush forests, and pristine lakes created a landscape that felt like something out of a postcard. Whether we were hiking through the wilderness, exploring hidden waterfalls, or simply soaking in the views, every moment was filled with awe and wonder.

We also stayed at the Deep Water Inn in Chelan, which was the perfect base for our adventures. The Inn, run by a kind and sweet couple, offered a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hospitality we received was top-notch. Dining at The Brunch Box, their on-site restaurant, was another highlight. The food was delicious, and it provided the perfect start to our day.

All in all, my trip to the North Cascades was a perfect getaway. From the smooth and scenic ferry ride on the Lady Of The Lake to the warm hospitality at the Deep Water Inn, every aspect of the trip exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty. I can't wait to return!

While the first time I tried to go to Stehekin I got stopped by the smoke, I was able to go 10/28 for the day trip and had such a wonderful time! I boarded at Fields Point and it was super easy. The lake was absolutely beautiful and the views from the boat were wonderful. The boat was warm and had plenty of room. There was no cell service and I was really thankful - they have a couple pamphlets on Stehekin and the boat company, which I really enjoyed unplugging and reading while sipping on a coffee from the boat's concessions (!)

Everyone on the boat was super nice, and the staff were really helpful in answering all of my questions on the itinerary for the day and future trips. I appreciated that they made it feel personal - as I was walking back to the boat for the return trip, they were already calling out my name.

The first leg of the trip was also full of some really interesting local trivia as you make your way to Stehekin.

Before the trip I hadnt been sure how I would feel about the 90 minute layover, but it ended up being super great, especially due to all the help planning from the crew and fellow passengers. We also arrived ~10 minutes early, which was nice for the layover.

I am already excited to come back 🙂

This is my third trip to Stehekin on Lady of the Lake, on Lake Chelan. We took the faster boat to Stehekin, had a three hour visit there and took the Lady of the Lake back to Chelan. Lake Chelan is 50 miles long so the ride home takes about 4 hours. We enjoyed the scenery... There are several packages for traveling to Stehekin. I think this one is the most popular if you aren't going to stay there.
