What a great afternoon! Our first time kayaking and swimming with the dolphins. The location is easy to find with great bathrooms. Excellent friendly service by Emily. Easy to launch and super comfortable kayaks. we enjoyed 2 hrs on the river and swam and kayaked with Manatees. it was so incredible. Nature at its best!

Recently did a two-hour tandem kayak rental with a friend at River Adventure Tours and had a blast! Although we only spotted one manatee, the experience was still enjoyable, with plenty of fish and turtles to admire along the way. The provided map was handy for navigating the area. Pro tip: Bring a dry bag with snacks and water to stay fueled and hydrated under the Florida sun, along with sunscreen for added protection. Overall, a great way to explore nature and have some fun!

We rented one single and one tandem kayak for Saturday March 30, 2024. We arrived and it took us a few minutes to find the employee Emily. Once we located her she was so friendly and had great tips on where to go look for manatees based on other kayakers recent experiences. I love that they give you a laminated map with different numbered areas to go check out. The pricing was very reasonable. Less than $34 after tax for the single kayak and less than $57 after tax for the tandem kayak for two hours. We are not experienced kayakers so it took us about an hour and a half to paddle from the launch point to Homosassa springs under the smaller bridge and into the beautiful clear water and then back to the launch point. I would recommend wearing some type of gloves so that you don’t get blisters if you are out for more than two hours and inexperienced like us. I did not end up with any blisters but I felt like they were forming by the end of our two hour trip! We launched around 8:45 AM and Emily told us that since she was not booked up that day if we were late coming back it would not be a big deal. Also if we wanted to extend our trip to the four hour rental we could just call her and let her know. It was very nice how accommodating she was. Since we got out on the water early we avoided the majority of the boats and other kayakers. We were able to see several manatee and get up close. That same afternoon we went to the Ellie Schiller wildlife park and were able to see the exact area that we had kayaked through that morning and it was lined with about 15 to 20 boats with people playing music and partying. That was very disappointing to see. I’m glad that we got out on the water as early as we did. We pretty much had the springs to ourselves!

We really enjoyed renting kayaks from River adventure tours. Our kayak dealer was awesome he explained everything to us he had an awesome attitude and he had a Bill Murray tattoo. The trip was totally doable. It was my first time kayaking in a single kayak. I have had lots of canoe experience but little to none with the kayak and I managed to get all the way out there and back with no issues.

We went in January and there were tons of manatees visible to us.
We learn the hard way that we need to get up early and also book online. we were able to still get kayaks when we walked up to the booth but that's not the way it flows so in the future I will definitely book online.

Thank you River adventure tours for making our trip to Florida one way will remember forever you guys are great.

Fantastic experience! My daughter and I booked one SUP rental and one self - launch for four hours. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, including sending an email of suggested items to bring, providing a map, and a little anchor. We paddled up towards the springs and the water was so clear, we saw several manatees and species of fish. Even in Nov, the weather was perfect and we were able to get in the water. Highly recommend!
PS don't pay attention to that one star review. Those people didn't even go out on the water. I asked.
Definitely a 5 star day!

Had a good experience renting kayaks from River Adventure Tours. Keep in mind there are just "honey buckets," no real bathrooms or changing rooms. But a big parking lot, nice newer kayaks, right by water. They drop kayaks in for you and push you in, so you'll be dry getting in. They give you a map too. I suggest a 4 hour kayak rental as time goes fast when you're having fun. We saw a couple of dolphins and a ton of manatees in December. Friendly staff.

Definitely recommend River Adventure Tours. They did a great job setting us up with kayaks and directing us to places where we should go. We got four hours for something like $45, which is a bargain. The only advice I would give is that some of the waterway area nearby is built up with homes. You have to paddle a bit to finally get to a nature area.
